Independent Exness partner guide

Exness download for PC and every other device

The quick answer first: there is no separate Exness program for a computer. On a PC, “the Exness app” means MetaTrader 4 (MT4), MetaTrader 5 (MT5), or the Web Terminal, which runs in a browser with nothing to install. The board below routes each operating system to its download.

This is an independent partner website — not Exness itself. Every account button here leads to the official exness.com, where registration, login, and trading actually happen. This site only explains the routes.

Windows PC

Windows: Exness MT4 and MT5 download for PC

The Exness PC download comes as two desktop installers — MT4 and MT5. MT5 is the newer terminal, with 21 timeframes, 38 built-in indicators, and depth of market (a live order book). MT4 is the classic choice for traders who rely on MT4-only expert advisors (EAs — automated trading robots). Trading accounts are opened for a specific platform, so the installer should match the account type.

  1. Download the installer

The MT4 and MT5 installers come from the official Exness website — no login is needed to download them. Download links are also listed inside the Personal Area. The full walkthroughs: MT4 download and MT5 download.

  2. Run the installer

A standard Windows setup: run the downloaded file, accept the prompts, and the terminal opens when the installation finishes. No trading account is required up to this point.

  3. Log in inside the terminal

MT4 and MT5 log in with a trading account number, a trading password, and a server name. The account number and server are shown in the Personal Area on the official exness.com; the trading password is set when the account is created and can be reset there.

Before the first login

  • The terminal login is not the Personal Area login. The Personal Area uses an email and password on the official exness.com; the terminal asks for an account number and a server name. The login guide untangles the two.
  • An MT4 account will not log into the MT5 terminal — or the other way round. The platform is fixed when the trading account is created, so the download should match the account.
  • Installers from other websites should not be trusted. The official exness.com and the Personal Area are the two places to download from.

macOS & Linux

macOS and Linux: the Web Terminal comes first

On a Mac or a Linux machine the main door is the Web Terminal — no download at all. Installed packages exist too; only MT4 desktop is Windows-only.

Web Terminal — nothing to install

Officially named the Exness Terminal, it runs the full trading session in a browser tab — charts, orders, one-click trading — and works with MT5-based accounts on macOS, Linux, and Windows alike. Web Terminal guide →

MT5 packages for macOS and Linux

Official MT5 packages for macOS and Linux exist for traders who prefer an installed terminal; they are published by the platform developer. MT4 desktop is built for Windows only.

Android & iOS

Phones and tablets: the Trade app and the APK

The Exness Trade app is on Google Play and the App Store, and a direct APK — Android’s installable app file — is published on the official Exness website for phones without Play access. The Trade app works with MT5 accounts; an MT4 account connects through the MT4 mobile app instead. Installation screens, APK permissions, and the first login are covered step by step in the app & APK guide.

Quick answers

Exness download — frequently asked questions

Is there an Exness app for PC?

Not as a separate program. On a computer the routes are MT4 or MT5 — installed desktop terminals — or the Web Terminal, which runs the full trading session in a browser tab. The Exness Trade app itself is built for iOS and Android phones and tablets.

Can MT4 or MT5 be installed without logging in?

Yes. The installers download from the official Exness website without any login. Signing in happens later, inside the terminal — with a trading account number, the trading password set when the account was created, and a server name; the number and server are shown in the Personal Area.

Where should the Exness installers come from?

From the official exness.com; download links are also listed inside the Personal Area. Installers or APK files offered by other websites should not be trusted — checking the address bar before downloading is the same habit that shuts out phishing copies of the login page.

MT4 or MT5 — which one to download?

MT5 is the newer terminal: 21 timeframes, 38 built-in indicators, and depth of market — a live order book. MT4 remains right for traders who rely on MT4-only expert advisors. Trading accounts are opened for a specific platform, so the download should match the account — an MT4 account logs into MT4, an MT5 account into MT5.

Can Exness run on macOS without installing anything?

Yes — the Web Terminal runs a full trading session in the browser on macOS, with nothing to download, and works with MT5-based accounts. An official MT5 package for macOS also exists for traders who prefer an installed terminal; only MT4 desktop is Windows-only.

The account behind every download

Every terminal on this page logs in with an Exness trading account, created on the official exness.com — email, a short questionnaire, then identity verification in the Personal Area. A demo account with virtual funds works on all four platforms before any deposit. Registration walkthrough →
